View Full Version : L215, freeze up and reset
L213 was somewhat stable for me but L215 has been a disaster. I am on my 4th power plug reset due to blank screen lock ups or picture freeze during PVR play back lock up. Last night I rebooted my unit before going to bed because I was watching a PVR recorded event and the picture just froze, I also was recording a moving on the other tuner. After reboot the recording was lost. After the reboot was successfully I shut the unit off and went to bed. This morning the unit had a flashing red recording led. Never seen it flash before, on turning the unit on had no video or audio unit was down solid. After a power plug reboot I had lost favorites, OTAs, everything. In fact I was not getting all channels and it took me a while to realize the unit had even lost switch data info and I had to do a check switch. I have reloaded everything. A call to the help desk was a waste. One more time and my wife is going to force me to switch to Direct or Cable she has basically had it. After having Dish since the first year they were in business it almost feels like getting a divorce. I have top 150, movie package, locals, HD and voom originals way over a 100.00 per month. I wish they would just cut me a deal to upgrade to a 942.

I'll bet it is a lease. That seams to be the direction that they want to move in. My 921 which had been nice and solid with L213 is now acting up like crazy. Mostly menu/epg freeze ups that require a reboot to fix. Last night I tried to schedule a timer from the EPG, when I'd select the "create" button to make the timer, the button would graphically flash (like normal) when I'd select it, but the menu would not close and the timer was never created. I could cancel out however.
The timer was to be scheduled in just 15 mins, so I just waited it out, and pressed record instead when the show began.
Again ditto here, my box was doing ok with exception of audio and pixelation problems, is now a mess. :nono:
I've been watching this forum for about 11 months and have had very few problems but have read of the many problems that others have been having. I am just beginning to feel the frustration that many of you have had since the introduction of L215. I am not going to be as patient as most of you have been.
If the problems aren't fixed shortly. I'm going to bail out and go to cable. I'll lose the $1000.00 that I paid for the 921, but if they can't fix it (which I'm thinking they can't) I'll lose it anyway. I am not going to pay E money for something that only half works. The rest of you should think about that.
Frustrated in Michigan!!
