Can you hook up a feeds from your multiswitch to antenna on TV's without sat boxes. Let me explain: we have a customer with 12 sat boxes and four other TV's that just have a basic OTA antenna hooked up. My boss thinks you can take the output from a Spaun multiswitch (we are using a 16 port switch with OTA input hooked up) and feed some feeds to sat boxes and use some feeds to be antenna only (no sat box for those rooms) without diplexors. I say no. The system is wigging out, there is good sat signal on the boxes sometimes and sometimes only on sat A or not at all (IE: searching for signal. Then the signals is good and vise-versa.

So does anyone know for sure if you HAVE to use diplexors on the sat outputs from a Spaun multiswitch (or others for that matter)?

It seems like it should work without diplexers. Note, though, that some brands of multiswitches use the DC voltage from the sat receiver to power the output amplifier of the particular multiswitch output.

seems like we had a bad multiswitch. We put in a new one and it seems to be working fine now. Time will tell.....
