I have a question I am hoping someone can help me with.
I use a device called TV Guardian. It removes profanity in a movie or TV show. It uses the closed caption to accomplish this. Now that Sky Angle has added the Hallmark Channels I now have a need to use the TV Guardian for those two channels. My problem is, it is not working! Does anyone know if Sky Angel is not using Closed Caption? Or does anyone have any ideas why this would not work with Sky Angel. It works well with Direct TV. Any thoughts?

Is closed captioning available on those channels yet?

I cannot say for sure about the Hallmark Movie Channel. But I know for a fact that the Hallmark Channel channel uses Closed Caption because my TV Guardian works great with it on Direct TV.

Well I just checked. A Walker was on Hallmark and the CC was working. Went to Hallmark movie channel and that movie, at least, did not seem to have CC so maybe the answer is sometimes?

I have the answer.
I have been chatting with the tech people at Sky Angel and this is what I have found out.
TV Guardian is working with the Hallmark channel but it is not with the Hallmark movie channel. The reason is that Hallmark movie channel is not yet broadcasting with CC. They should begin around the 16 of JULY.
Thanks to everyone who tried to help

It is a pretty sad day when you have to worry about profanity on a Sky Angel broadcast.

I can agree that having broadcast on Sky Angel that contains profanity is unfortunate. But at the same time I can understand Sky Angel's dilemma.
The number of people subscribing to Sky Angel is small compared to the number of people who attend church on a regular basis. The sad truth is many people are not that interested in a Satellite system that only offers Christian programming.
Then you have to deal with another fact most people who attend church have no real problem watching things that contain profanity. The number of people who have purchased TV Guardian is small as well. Then to add to all of that most people who have Sky Angel or who would be interested would like to have non religious program options as well. So they are stuck with having 2 Dishes or subscribing to cable. Many don’t want that kind of hassle. So if Sky Angel is going to see subscriber growth they have to try to offer a package that will satisfy the majority. We may not like that fact but it is true. An additional problem is that many of the Christian channels do not offer very compelling programming. Some examples to show what I mean: The Creation Network was a program that when it first aired showed that this was a great idea with some great potential. After all these years they are still basically airing the same programs they did when it first began many years ago. Another problem is that much of the religious programs are shallow, superficial and at times nothing more then a platform in which to ask for money. There are some exceptions. In Touch with Charles Stanley, The Coral Ridge Hour with Dr. D James Kennedy, Turning Point with Dr. Jeremiah, and Quick Study. These are some good programs but religious TV needs to produce more like them. The Hallmark Channels that Sky Angel has added may have some content that has profanity but the amount of profanity is very small and easily handled with TV Guardian. The Hallmark Channels programming is still a lot better then what you can find on many other channels. I would have loved if they could have offered Disney and maybe the History channel or something like it.

I concur with much of what you have stated and have found it to be true through my own experiences when promoting Sky Angel. Christians seem to want Sky Angel to be perfect and fullfill all of their TV needs but are unwilling to support them. Cable, or secular satellite services seem to have little trouble getting Christian support no matter what (ungodly) programming or channels they carry, this shouldn't be.

I would also like to add Word Pictures and The Way of the Master as well as much of FaithTV as other examples of quality Christian (and non-superficial) television.

YES!
Word Pictures is the best program on Christian TV. I Can't believe I forgot to mention that one. Let's hope they continue to produce new shows.
