Reality-Show Writers Sue for Lost Pay

Twelve writers who work on "unscripted" TV shows are suing their network and production-company bosses, claiming they were stiffed on overtime pay and forced to work under conditions that violate labor laws.

The writers are suing four networks -- ABC, CBS, The WB and TBS -- and four production companies: Telepictures, Next Entertainment, AND Syndicated Productions and Dawn Syndicated Productions. They claim that they worked up to 84 hours per week with no overtime pay, were told to falsify time cards and weren't given meal breaks.
