Dish is responsible for the repair of Leased equipment as long as you did not cause any damage to it.
you are still responsible however to pay for the shipping or service call if a tech must come to your house.
You can try and get the shipping waived in some cases.
The other option is to signup for the Dish Protection Plan at $5.99 per month and you get $29 Service visits and free Shipping and Handling. You can then cancel the plan after the repair has been completed.

There is only a 1 cent extra monthly charge to lease the receiver compared to a owned receiver.
The first receiver lease fee is included in the monthly Package cost.
Each additional leased receiver has a $5 monthly lease fee. Each owned additional Receiver has a $4.99 additional receiver fee.

Oh? It was my understanding that it was $5 a month lease plus $4.99 each additional receiver. Does it depend on the basic package?

If your leasing DISH collects the monthly fee and then gets to resell the product. Where do you think those REMANUFACTURED 501 & 508s have been coming from that DISH has been unloading because they have no DVOD fees.

but if you own it you still pay a mirror fee and the 522 is much better than a 501 or 508 by the way if dish can keep the sac down then prices should not have to be raised as much
