So I decide to cancel my MSN Premium account today. Got tired of shelling out the $10 per month for essentially nothing. Even though I upgraded from the basic service a few months back, there was no way I could revert back to basic service!! Also no way to export my favorites. I was pissed!!! So to pay 'em back, I downloaded Firefox and reloaded a hundred or so URLs (aaargh!!).
Should have done that sooner. After 30 min. or so of hacking around, I really like the look and feel of this browser. Adios Redmondians!!

Let me recommend a few extensions.
1) InfoRss - Stock ticker for forums like this.
2) AdBlock
3) WeatherFox
4) ImageZoom.
ALso try the Noia and Qute Themes. Very nice additions.
I am a big fan of Firefox.

I also run tweak network settings (http://www.bitstorm.org/extensions/tweak/)
welcome aboard! You'll really love the bookmark toolbar and tabbed browsing (at least I do) :) .

Amen, tabbed browsing is the best.
Another extension I use- G Mail users can install a G-mail notifier.
You might check out this thread (http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?t=41161&highlight=firefox) from earlier this year for popular extensions.
My list of currently installed extensions includes:
Adblock
Flashblock
IEView
ImageZoom
Javascript Debugger
DSLR/BBR Notifier
Disable Targets for Downloads
Forcast Fox
TinyURL Creator
Wayback
FoxyTunes
HTML Validator
CustomizeGoogle
CookieCuller
Dictionary Search
The first two are two that no firefox install should be without. They are musts.
Learned something new today. Been using Firefox for 6 months now, and never tried Tabbed Browsing. Cool.
But, in regard to the first post in this thread, when I installed FF, it DID import my favorites from IE6.

haha....that's one of the best features.
I, too, imported my favorites. I also saved them off my HDD, incase for some reason they get deleted.

Firefox 1.0.5 has just been released, and is a must-download due to security holes.

Absolutely. It makes some much sense you wonder why MSFT didn't do something like this. Oh, wait, they'd never be innovative on something like this.

The issue isn't with IE, it's with (or was with) MSN. No option to download there and what fried me was that I upgraded from basic to premium and then once I did that, there was no option to revert. That's the kind of stuff that REALLY fries people.
I also run tweak network settings (http://www.bitstorm.org/extensions/tweak/) You can also just get the MOOX Optimized Builds (http://www.moox.ws/tech/mozilla/firefox.htm) that are optimized for your particular processor and already have the tweaked network settings.
It does take a bit though after a new verison is released for the optimized builds to show up.
