Has anyone ever noticed this:

After NOT putting the 921 in standby when you went to bed but rather just turned off the TV, when you turn on the TV in the morning, you are watching a program that is delayed 2 hours?

Let me be more specific: I have a M-F timer set to tape The Daily Show from 11-11:30 on Comedy Central. Other than watching pre-recorded Daily Show events, we NEVER tune to Comedy Central. Usually when we go to bed (before 11:00), we just turn off the TV, leaving it on whatever channel it happened to be on (which as I said, is never CC). When I turn the TV on in the morning, what I see is pretty shocking! What I am watching at about 7:00am is Comedy Central delayed 2 hours (i.e. it's what was on at 5:00am on Comedy Central), and let me tell you, you don't want the kids seeing the "Girls Gone Wild" infomercials that they play at that time! It is as if in the middle of the night someone tuned to Comedy Central and hit pause, which paused until the buffer filled up and then started playing 2 hour delayed.

Occasionally this happens with other timers (for example, this morning it was on Speed because I had a late night timer set last night).

I called this in once and they had me delete the timer and re-create it and wait and see if the next software release fixed it. Nothing has helped. It doesn't happen every night, and it would hardly be worth mentioning, except for the fact that at 7:00am I'm not sure I want my kids turning on the TV to watch their kids' show only to see some girl flashing them!

Is there a chance that you had two timers set when this problem happens? If so that might explain why it's on Comedy Central but not why it's two hours delayed unless someone had rewinded it back to there.
Also does this only happen when the unit is left on versus standby mode?

I suspect that there are slightly overlapping timers (i.e. I had a 10-11 timer with a 3 minute extension set) and that is part of the triggering mechanism. Like you said, I'm not concerned with the fact that it's on Comedy Central--it's the delay that's strange. I know for a fact that no one actually rewound or hit the pause button.

Like I said, I'm not really in the habit of putting the unit into standby (although I have more often lately due to the fact that when a new software update has been downloaded but not installed, timer recordings get seriously messed up!) so I can't confirm whether this problem happens when I've left it in standby.
