I have seen this forum section specifically listed as one to get the axe soon. Unfortunately it is one of the few places I have derived great value at dbstalks. The talent that collects here has been most generous with expertise and have provided me with many solutions, and when not specific, just fresh ideas on what to look for when I run into a dead end. Last year I was so thankful for some ideas I received in this section that I sent in a donation, actually it was a pretty decent sum for my income level because of the benefits of this forum section, ALONE.

If this section is to go, then please allow members who post here to toss about ideas on where we can find a similar place to meet and discuss the same sort of topics presented here. Please do not delete posts when members suggest other site's locations that would serve the same purpose. Please give the posters here at least a week's warning that the new administrators plan to dump it so we can work out a plan to meet somewhere else.

Thanks for your input Don. If we do close any forums, we will make the announcements far in advance.

Nothing is set in stone but I can tell you that off-topic subjects will continue to be discussed on DBSTalk. We are looking hard at re-alignments rather than closures.

Here's another vote for keeping the off-topic forums. I may not need the 'info' of the on-topic forums as much, but the OT forums keep me coming back every day and, because of that, I notice the ON topic stuff that interests me much sooner than I might have.

Another vote here to keep the off topic and computer forums on this site. I guess we will just have to use satelliteguys.us and dbsforums.com exclusively to chat about these topics in the future.
