View Full Version : Timers don't fire...

After updating to 227, I have encountered two problems with timers:
1. Some timers don't not fire. They show on the list on the events, but they don't fire. If I go back in time they are shown as "completed", but there is nothing recorded.
2. Programs are recorded but at the wrong time/date. For example, an X-file program is recorded only for 32 minutes in the middle of it, or a completely different program is recorded instead.
No power outages, no storms, several hours available on the hard drive for recording.
Any ideas what's happening?
Thanks,
Gianfranco

Is the Daily Schedule up to date, meaning, does it start with the current day or is it still showing events from a couple of days ago or more?

The daily schedule is up to date. This is not the same bug as all the scheduled timers disappearing -- I have experienced that, too, in the past. This is different. The schedule is up to date, the timers are there, and the DVR shows that the timers were successful, BUT...nothing is recorded!

Same problem here. When I got home last night, I noticed that my 5-5:30p and 7-7:30p shows recorded, but the 6-7p show did not. The DS indicated that it recorded, but did not appear on the DVR events screen.

Ok, next question. Did this happen before the 110 outage? If not, a switch check might help.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the 110 outage?
This has happened to me several times between Sunday and today.
Pardon my ignorance, but what is the 110 outage?
Echostar 8, one of the Dish Network satellites that provides services at the 110W orbital location, experienced a failure that started at around 1:00AM on Wednesday morning 7/20, and was resolved later that morning. Some people, especially those who performed "check switch" operations while the bird was sick, continued to have problems later in the day.

Did Dish indicate that this problem only happens in standby mode?
My missed recording issues have been more with bad guide data than actual failures. For example, HD-Net has been showing "Intro to HD-Net" for most of the early morning hours (I missed the Tuesday 2:00am Smallville), but now it shows HD-Net's schedule and the DVR schedule whos that it will record Smallville Friday and Saturday a.m.
Has anybody else noticed this or been bit by this issue?

Yep, lost the last 10 minutes of "House"; Tuesday program started late due to the president's announcement of his supreme court nominee - a preemption which never made it into the guide. I wonder if Tivo owners had the same problem  .
