I am thinking about purchasing a 942 but after reading the user manual and Mark's Initial Report on the 942 I have a couple of things I don't quite understand.
Can someone tell me if I can connect the TV2 output from the 942 receiver using RG-6 coax cable DIRECTLY to the second TV's RF input? When I read the user manual I got confused about having a home distribution system with cable or off air splitters and setting the receiver to modulate to some channel that is not being used by cable or off air or something??? I just want to know if I can use a direct connect to the television via the RF connection. If this is possible are there any suggestions I might need to make this go simple?

Thanks for any help and answers.

Yes, you could hook up the 942 TV2 output directly to another TV using coax cable and don't need to use a home distribution system.

I would suggest running a dedicated line to the second TV and leaving it at it's default setting of 60. Tune your 2nd TV to receiver "Off Air" signal and put it on channel 60, program your television to only work on 60 and all is good.

If for some reason you use a diplexer, change that setting to 21, which is always a sharper picture.

Thanks for the answers this helps. I plan to run a dedicated RG6 line from the 942 ( TV 2 output) directly to the second TV and connect to the TV's RF input. So what would be the reason to use a diplexer, which diplexer would I use and where in the setup would it be connected? I also don't quite understand why using channel 21 would give me a better picture. Or is the picture better because of using the diplexer?
I currently have a SuperDish with the DP34 switches (2 trunked).
Again Thanks for your replies and help.

If you are running a dedicated line, you wouldn't use a diplexor.

I'd recommend some trial and error in picking the best channel to use. In particular, I'd avoid picking a channel that's being used by a local OTA broadcaster.
