Good bye 921, Hello 942!

Bye bye 921 hello 942. I did it, i bought a 942 from Fry's for $699 plus tax. I am tired of being afriad to erase a show when one is recording or being scared to record two shows at once. My 510 is rock solid and i hope the 942 will allow me to replace the 510 and the 921 with one box. I bought my 921 around January and they till haven't been able to get it right. i give up! Thanks to Mark, Ron, Allen, and everyone else who tried to help.

One question, If i unhook the sat feeds and do a check switch will i be able to watch the shows off the harddrive easily or will it freak out because there are no sat feeds hooked up?

YOu should be able to watch the recordings even when it is not hooked up to the satellite. Just hit menu and then the dvr recordings. I took my 721 receiver to the electronic stores over a year ago and connected it to each tv to see what the picture would look like and I could do it. The 921 is just like the 721 in the way it works so it should work too. The 510 is easy to access as well . Hit menu or pvr button and you should be able to see the recordings.
