I noticed at the ever popular Dish channel chart, a slew of local channels are using the national PBS feed instead of the local one.

So, why isn't Dish using the local PBS station in these markets?

Which of those markets actually have a full power PBS in the market?

Thats not what I asked. What I mean is could DISH pull in a semi-local PBS from a neighboring market?

Perhaps, but why use all that bandwidth when you don't have to?

Beans, there are no local PBS stations in any of the markets that got the PBS National channel. Every one of the national PBS channels are mirrors of channel 249 so no additional bandwidth is being used to serve all these markets.

What are those "Pirate TV" channels listed in the channel list? If they can send those to only pirates, then can't they send only pirates a kill signal?

other pecularities: KAZH-TV 57 is uplinked to 110 tp 16 as well as 148 tp 4. Why not eliminate the 148 feed and map the 110 channel to Houston local channel 57?

Where have you been? There have been several threads in recent days about this.

They do!

More likely constantly....
But more likely, as you know, it's "a cat and mouse game"

Like I said above, could DISH at least bring in a semi-local PBS from a neighboring market? I entered in the zip codes of the cities/markets at the PBS website, and it brings up two or more neighboring stations as results. Those PBS stations are probably carried on cable in these markets as well.
