What is the difference between the 921 and 942...I ordered a receiver from a local store and thought I was receiving the 942. The 921 has been ordered but I wonder if I should return it and reorder the 942 if there is a profound difference. The salesperson said there was no difference.

Cancel the 921 and order the 942. Read a few of the threads around here and you'll quickly see the differences are like night and day.

If the salesperson told you there was no difference, he needs learn his receivers.

He is just trying to make a sale....!

Yes there is a difference .....!

You may want to wait a few months and wait for the 4MPEG DVR. if you can wait that is the best of all worlds.

Thank you for your replies. I read through as many posts as I could and gather that the 921 does not allow viewing on two different TVs. This is what I thought I ordered. Does the 921 allow you to watch on two different TVs? What does a dual tuner mean? I assume a dual tuner means that you can record a program and view another.... It sounds like I need an HD DVR for both of my high definition TVs. Is this true? If I wait for the 4Mpeg DVR will it allow that capability and about how much would the receiver cost?

1) Does the 921 allow you to watch on two different TVs?
Answer: No... Unless they are in the same room and you use a splitter

Answer: YES...if you want to record on both TVs....you can get a none DVR HD receiver in one TV

Answer: I think I have read somewere that with the next generation you will be able to communicate between the 2 DVRs...No one know how much, but I am assuming around $800

Thank you. I have made a decision. I will return the 921, get the 942 and hope to upgrade to the 4Mpeg DVR.
