I am seriuosly considering a move from E* to D* because they have the filipino programming I want. I own and like all of my E* eqiuptment. Mainly the 522 DVR. I can not find any good info about their DVR's on their website.

Do they have a dual tuner DVR with UHF remote like the 522? I love having two outputs that share one HDD.

It may make it better if it was the HD DVR, but any would do at this point.

Thanks 4 your help.

D* does not have a comparable product to that E* unit. I beleive all current D* DVR's are dual tuner units, requiring 2 feeds directly from a dish or muli-switch, all the ones I have seen are, dont know about HD though. This allows you to record two shows at once, or record one and watch another, or recrod 2 and watch something from the HD. But you cant watch 2 different shows at the same time from any Directivo units since they only have 1 mpeg decoder.

D* doesn't have any dual-output DVRs like the 522. Each D*DVR only connects to 1 TV. All current D*DVRs use IR remotes, not RF.

D* does have an HD DVR: http://www.directv.com/hddvr

This keeps getting tougher for me. I now see TFC is shutting down so I'll be forced to go with DTV to get it. If I keep Dish too, I pay more because I have to pay the 9.99 basic plus the TFC charge. If I go to DTV only, I have to pay to get a new HD box and a new DVR. And despite what everyone else says, I love my 522. Plus I'll lose my distant networks!
