I have 4 users set up for me and the missus and two kids. When I log on to mine (the master) I get no popups, no spyware attempts or browser hijack attempts. When my daughter logs on to hers she immediately starts getting a bunch of crap including popups. I have MS Antispy, Yahoo Antispy, Norton Systemworks 2005, Ad-Aware, Spybot and a few others. I routinely use a tracks erasing program called Window Washer. I think I'm pretty dilligent about keeping the bad stuff out.

My question then is how the user accounts work. If I run scans while I'm logged onto the master does it protect the sub accounts as well? I can't figure out why the sub accounts seem vulnerable to pop ups and spyware? I have the google toolbar installed with pop up blocker and the XP popup blocker enabled. Norton catches a lot of the attempts but it gets really annoying when every 30 seconds a message comes up asking you what to do.

I'm just guessing, but I don't think that will work. You have to scan each account separately. It almost like having 4 different computers.
Again I'm just assuming.

That's what I suspect too but I just don't know. Where's cdru when you need him! :)

Yes, you have to do each account separately.

Thanks so much for the answer Cari. :) It's funny but I don't remember reading this anywhere in the instructions for all these anti-spyware and virus programs.
