Any word on whether Dish is in negotiations with American Life (formerly Goodlife) TV? I like the vintage programming on this channel, and its one I'd like to see Dish carry.

I have been sending requests for American Life and Ovation for several years.

They were uplinked to the satellites several years ago buy never released to the public.

Does Dish negotiate with anyone? Directv seems to have no problem adding new channels like TV One, Lifetime Real Women, the Reality Channel and they have had Oxygen for a long time now while Dish still doesn't have it. Dish recently increased prices by $3 or so per package and yet didn't add any new stations that viewers had been requesting.

Don't worry, I have the feeling Directv will have a significant price increase next year. Let's face it, you can't launch three satellites, begin the upgrade to mpeg4, add new channels (including HD locals), provide new dishes for the new birds for free or at cost, pay whatever programer's want for their channels along with a significant increase in cost for Sunday Ticket and not raise prices.

Dish's channel line-up suites me fine and their negotiating tactics seem to work well as they are a profitable company. I think that we are now in an era that will have annual price increases for every provider, how big of an increase is directly related to E*, D*, or CATV negotiating methods.

They're owned and subsidized by Rupert Murdoch. In other words it's not important they they actually earn a profit, which is good since they never have. Charlie meanwhile while having the rep as being a notorious cheapskate at least manages to fight to keep prices low and make his company profitable.
