So one of the things that we want to wait on is to add a lot of channels in MPEG-4 so we don't have a lot of people to work with to upgrade to that new service.

I'd sure like to have some kind of reasonable estimate as to when the 962 will be available, and on what terms.

Last I heard the model number was just a rumor. The 411 (MPEG4 replacement for 301/811 and other single tuner MPEG2 devices) has been seen outside engineering and apparently works. But I don't believe anyone has seen a DVR or dual tuner MPEG4 device - if they have they have kept their mouth shut.Anyone know the September Chat topic?Corrections to the August Tech Chat. :D

I expect September to focus on the 'single dish' explaination for those who missed the Tech Chat or need more information. Plus new local markets that 129 may allow E* to add. They should also repeat any programming related information (such as new channels) that is mentioned tonight.

Is the tech forum available on any other channels besides 101? I have a neighbors tree blocking 119 with new growth early in the summer and would like to watch the forum on a channel on 61.5 or 110.

Well, hopes dashed again. Wife thought I was nuts to watch that empty Chat. The Pocket Dish was nice, but not much new info- just September vs July. Yeah, I'll take that date to the bank- which is where I'll probably need to be to afford one.

I can only assume that MPEG-4 will be even further out than I expected. I won't add the HD paks until the 962 is out and we know if there is a long term need/use for adding a 61.5 dish to my roof. And I guess there's no point in looking at a Pocket Dish anytime soon, either. If they ever published some info, maybe they would make it worth our while to get a 942 now and trade up later. But I'm not into gambling.
