Choice of XP pro twice when booting up

When I start my computer (this is the old one...finally got it running again) I get the option of which I want to start - XP Pro or XP Pro. Doesn't matter which I chose, they take me to the same place. How do I get ride of this? Thanks in advance.

Ugh, that was fast....never mind...went to msconfig>>boot.ini and ran the check boot path and it took care of it. Anything else I might want to know would be appreciated.

Perhaps your hard drive is partitioned with two operating systems? I have heard of PC users partitioning a hard drive with say, Windows XP an Windows 2000, but never two of the same OS.

Control Panel -> System -> Advanced -> Startup and Recovery -> Settings -> Edit

Opens Boot.ini. Remove the line for one OS. Save. Exit.
