Thomson and Grundig AG said that they signed an agreement for Thomson to acquire 100 percent of the Digital Intermedia Systems (DIS) business, Grundig's set-top box initiatives. Under the agreement, Thomson will acquire Grundig's high-quality set-top box manufacturing operations located near Cardiff (Llantrisant, United Kingdom), and its set-top box hardware and software development divisions.
