I just installed my 942, could not just look at the box while waiting for install next week. In general I am very impressed, but the screen seems to be shifted left, SD programming has a narrow bar on left and a wide bar on the right, and HD has a narrow black band on the right side, both SD and HD banners and graphics are shifted left. Can the screen position be moved?
Screen size and position controls are supposedly coming as an enhancement in an upcoming software update.
Keeping my fingers crossed that it will be soon... :)

I can live with the off center on wide screen, I guess, pnly about 1/2 inch bar on right side, but on SD the left bar is 3 inches and the left bar is 6.5 inches, that seems excessive. Is this typical?
I don't think it's typical. My screen is very nearly centered. (My problem is that the screen is too high, and too tall, so I am losing a little off the bottom and even more off the top)

Happened across avsforum.com in another thread so I went there and searched about centering pictures and I found a thread which said "simply use curser keys on remote to shift picture", I tried it and WOW the picture will just shift around anywhere you want, I can't beleive it was so easy

????
The remote cursor keys change channels, searches, etc. What mode do you have to be in for them to control picture position?

I assume you mean the cursor keys on your television (which one?).
The cursor keys on 942 do not provide picture position control.

Correct the curser keys on the TV remote, at least with my philips plasma they move up and down right and left in menus, but when no menus are displayed they move the screen around.

OK. So, you're saying the control of your picture's position is related to a function of *your* TV and the TV's remote and NOT the 942. Is that correct? Because your post suggested that picture position could be controlled via the 942, ie the output from the 942.

The tv remote positions the screen, NOT the 942 remote. This is strictly a function of the tv not the 942, sorry for the confusion.
