I have a Hughes HDVR2 receiver that is two years old now. Within the last 3 months, I have noticed an issue with the volume up and down not wanting to stay on when held (based on the red remote indicator) from time to time, especially when the receiver is turned on. This issue typically lasts for a few minutes afterward. After that, the volume buttons act normally when held down. The channel up and down also do the same thing, but I am not particularly concerned as I never hold that one down.
I have disassembled the remote, cleaned the outer parts and the rubber keypad with a gentle detergent and wiped the top portion of the circuit board with a rag dipped in hot water and squeezed to remove excess water. There was a substance on the circuit board, so this was not totally in vain. Also, batteries are new.
However, the volume up down issue remains. Is my remote going bad, or is there a fix for the issue.
