DVR with Input from Different Dishes

I have only one cable hooked up to Input 1 from an oval dish. I can not hook up another cable from that dish. I do have the ability to hook up a cable from a separate dish supplied by my condo to Input 2. This dish is a round dish. I know Input 2 will be able to get less channels than input 1. But, will the TIVO allow this type of setup?

It will but you may not like it. There is no way to control which input is used for what recording. If you select a channel that does not come from Sat A, it will work if the box assigns one tuner but won't work on the other.

But you could exclude channels from the "Channels I Receive" list if the channels are not available on both of your satellite feeds. That would prevent attempts to record that might fail if the wrong tuner was used. The vast majority of standard definition DirecTV channels are available on the 101 satellite, which would be available on both of your feeds.

Periodically, you may have to check and correct your Channels I Receive list since DirecTV automatically adds any new channels to that list.
