"NEW" parameter in Guide Data

I just noticed that a number of programs have "New" listed in the guide data. Maybe it's a preliminary step towards getting our DVR's to actually record new vs 2005 programs.

I just noticed that a number of programs have "New" listed in the guide data. Maybe it's a preliminary step towards getting our DVR's to actually record new vs 2005 programs.

That's been on new shows for as long as I can remember, I'm guessing it's not a very reliable indicator? Otherwise I would have expected that Dish would have used that to begin with. In fact I thought that was what they'd do until I read Mark's initial review earlier this year.

"New" for E* NBR means made in this calender year. Therefore, a show produced in January of 2005 will still count as new in December of 2005.
