Play back problem

My wife has one show that won't play back properly. It was the season finale of Resuce Me. After starting playback I skipped a few commercials at the beginnning, but when it gets to the actual show it switches to a fast forward mode. The only way to stop the fast forward is to press stop several times. I tried restarting the show and this time I did not skip the commercials, but when gets to the beginning of the show it goes back into the fast forward mode again. No matter how far I skip into the show it continues in the fast forward mode. This is the only time we've seen this problem. Could it be a bad spot on the hard drive? Any ideas?

Yes, I've also had this problem! It's very sporadic but I'd say it's happened to 3 or 4 taped shows in the last 2 months. It seems like the whole recording is screwed when this happens too. Same thing; none of the buttons work and the show is stuck in FF mode. Stop will work after 3 or 4 key presses but that's it.

I'd also like to know if it's a bug others have seen too b/c if it's a hard-drive issue, I'd want to replace my 942. I'd be upset if it happens to something I really wanted to watch..

I had this happen to me and a "power button" reboot corrected the problem.

I have noticed this problem to with 280/281. When using skip forward it freezes..sometime jumps to the end of the program. If I hit the back button it usually unlocks and can go from there..totally flakey..seem a buncha new glitchs have popped up. Hell, Ill take the old SW..atleast it would record when its supposed to, unlike the latest version
