What would cause the tivo clock to be off by 2 minutes? It is plugged into a phone. Seems it just stated being off yesterday, odd.

Check it with time.gov.
It's to the exact second of my DTiVo. Wednesdays I record 4 shows, I just started watching the last one now and all four recordings started when the show did or a few seconds before.

I did that Steve, my comp and cell phone are in sync with time.gov and my Tivo's are all somewhere between 2 and 3 minutes off, all 3 of them.

Hmm, I reboot and the time is correct, then within a minute it goes back to 2 minutes off.

Could be DirecTV has the wrong time. One evening a couple years ago I noticed the time was a couple minutes off when watching certain channels, all of which happened to be on the same transponder. A few minutes after changing to a channel on a different transponder the time was correct again. The receiver appeared to get the time signal every 5 or 6 minutes. The error was fixed by the next morning.

A while ago DirecTV was having trouble with some of the Time signals from a few TPS. Maybe, this has reappeared. Tune to different channels and wait about 5 minutes to see if the time difference changes.

After my tivos were done recording everything I called DirecTv, they said to put the Tivo's on the Discovery channel overnight and tell the them to make a daily call. So far, so good, all 3 of my Tivos now have the correct time.
