I live in an area that is roughly 70 miles from the nearest ABC affiliate. I qualified for a DNS service for an ABC station( i selected WLS out of Chicago). I would very much like to receive my ABC programming in HD. I would need approximately a 35' antenna tower (expensive) to pull in my nearest ABC affil(WRTV out of Indy). I'd like to save the time and energy by waiting for Dish to offer the locals in HD(I'm assuming the the WLS Chicago would be in HD). However, I don't want to wait to long. I hate having to switch from watching Monday Night Countdown on ESPNHD in nice clear HD, to watching the actual game in standard def. :) Anyone have any idea how much longer I might have to wait if I decide not to erect that antenna tower?
I also want to be able to record my HD programming. I have been thinking of purchasing the ATI HDTV-Wonder and Beyond TV 3(soon to support HD) to use my computer's HD as my DVR for HD content. I'm hesitant to buy the 942 as I don't know what Dish will do with 942 userswhen they make the switch to MPEG-4.
