I hope Ted's not colorizing the first half hour.

The first & last parts will be presented in sepia tone, which is how the movie was originally presented and has been since the movie was released on video in the late 1980s.

I picked this up yesterday. It looks and sounds fantastic! If you don't have TNT HD, get the DVD so you can experience the 5.1 sound. It's quite amazing what they did. They dug up the separate elements in the soundtrack (music, effects, dialogue) and produced a true 5.1 surround field.

The PQ is the best I've ever seen on this movie. They digitally scanned the whole thing from the original Technicolor prints (cyan, blue, yellow) in high resolution and were able to line them up perfectly.

Never has this movie looked and sounded this good.

Did they ever find Pink Floyd hiding in the mix somewhere? :D

I've bought the new DVD as well, but haven't picked up mine yet...

I'm curious... I wonder if TNTHD might actually consider turning off their stretch mode for this when they show it. Since the movie is a 4:3 movie... HD would be nice, but if they stretch and warp it... I'll skip the telecast and watch my DVDs again.

This movie is often categorized as a childrens' movie. What an absurd notion.
