Monsters HD Secures Exclusive HDTV Rights To Package Of Films In Deal With Warner Bros.

9th November, 2005

Monsters HD, the first-ever and only 24-hour channel exclusively devoted to the horror and creature feature category, has acquiried 44 classic and contemporary horror titles from Warner Bros.

Domestic Cable Distribution that will air in HD, beginning 2005. Among the titles is the recently restored version of the original 1933 KING KONG as well as RKO’s SON OF KONG and MIGHTY JOE YOUNG. Monsters HD is one of 10 high-definition core channels currently available through VOOM HD Networks, the largest and most diverse suite of high definition channels nationwide and currently available on DISH Network.

How do they define "classic"? Does this mean only 1960 or before? Warner bros. has a lot of great horror flix from the 70's and 80s and I wonder what the mix is like.....

I've been really disappointed with the new Kung Fu channel. The Guy Channel, or whatever they called it, had some decent programming, despite showing Fail Safe twenty times a week.
