Hi all. I have a 942 and two 510s in my house...my 942 and one 511 are on the same floor and when they're both on the same channel, there's an echo effect. It's really hard to tell which receiver is putting out the sound faster, I think the 510.

Is there any way to fix this?

Welcome!

Unfortunately the delay is not adjustable.

I didn't think so.

Thanks a lot.

If you have 2 identical receivers with coax running exactly the same distance from the dish, it is still improbable that the sound will go in or come out of the receivers at the same time. And the pictures will not be in sink either. The bright side watch number one, if you miss something, run to number2:D

Even worse the audio on the 942 is out of sync between the HDMI output, composite output and the optical output. It can't even keep in sync with itself!

Seeing there is no such receiver as the 511 what do you have 311s or 510s. If you are comparing a 942DVR to a nonDVR 311 you will definitely have a time lag due to recording on the HD before processing the signal.

What you are experiencing is latency. It happens not only in DBS but also on PC's. One time at work we had several PC's connected to the same streaming audio site. There is no way to get every device to sync up perfectly in the digital domain. There are varying degrees of delay when the receiver decodes the digital signal into analog. It happed when I had 2 4000's on my account. They were co-located in my entertainment center, so cable length was not an issue. Analog OTOH is almost always perfectly in sync.

Oops...I meant 510s.
