View Full Version : How to Change Recording Settings?
I've been through the paper manual (not too useful) and I can't find how to change the settings for SPs.
I have one for the evening news and it's keeping multiple copies. I only want to keep one. This was simple with a DTiVo, but I can't find the screen to adjust SPs on the R15.

How do I adjust SP settings on the R15?
It's in the series link screen. While your in the screen that says record hit the green button for series then press the left arrow to change options like first run, 5 copies, etc....
Thanks for the help.
This is an existing Series, if I manuver to the 'Record' in the menu for this, it does nothing.
How do I get to the Record Screen for an existing Series Recording?
I believe it's in MyVOD, not at home so it's still a learning curve.
Thanks for the help.

I'm not at home either, this is a sure way to do it (long) if I was home could test myself and find a shorter way. This will work, though.
goto findby.....title.......enter the shows name.....select it......top left will say record.....select that......green button (for series) ...... then left arrow to options.
What throws me off is those blue, yellow buttons. I search all over for things and my wife said "it says up there in the corner yellow button". I never noticed it so now I try those buttons in every menu.
Wow.. I know you are trying to help me, but I'm just being too dense to get it.
Is there not a Series Manager like DTiVo had SP Manager?
Can I not just see a list of all my Series Recordings and modify or delete them directly?
I believe even UTV had that capability.
If this is the case, then that should be at or near the top of the requested feature list for an upcoming SW release.
inline update:
I tried your suggestion from the Guide. I found my evening news, selected it, pressed Record and found the 'Series Link' page.
So I see how to do it, but I still think there needs to be a dedicated set of screens to manage series recordings.
For example, I need to go out of town for a few weeks. I go through my SPs and increase the 'keep' number from 2 to 4. Without a list of Series Recordings I have to remember where all my SPs are and manually find them to edit them. Not too friendly.
there are easier ways to do it, just the ONLY way I KNOW that would work, while I'm at work. You can goto list and yellow button to see your todo list, just not sure if you can edit from there or not.

Not that I'm aware off, yeah I like that feature on the R10
No, that was the first thing I tried.
Pressing 'Record' in that list does nothing as far as I can tell. Maybe it's supposed to and it's a bug that it doesn't.
Even if that worked, it's still not the most friendly way to do it.

Sounds like you're looking for the prioritizer. Try this sequence: List, Yellow, the left arrow and down to "Prioritizer", Select. Highlight and select the series you want to edit. I believe there's a "Record" option in the left menu. That should get you there.
Does the 'Prioritizer' just show Series Link Recordings?
If so, and if that works, then that's not too bad.

Yes.
Yes.. and it's not that bad.
I think they need to work on their UI though. The little, narrow list for To Do's and the Prioritizer should be expanded to fill more of the screen, thus contain more entries and maybe even more info (e.g. number of episodes to keep)

It's seems like they are using a big font and some huge graphics, hopefully they can trim all of that down some and get some screen realestate back.

I've tried to change the series record options shortly after a reboot and get only 2 options, Delete/Don't delete the series.

Sounds like you tried to change an empty one, not sure what screen you need to go into for empty ones. I will look once i'm home tonight.
I just tried this on my unit. I went to my vod, to do and then prioritizer - selected the program -hit record then series link and it allows me to change the keep at most from there.
Hope this helps !
