HOw do the folders work, exactly. I have a folder with 4 Daily Shows in it. There is another line for another episode of The Daily Show. Why in the world is that one not in the folder with the others? Every day, I am just amazed at the odd quirks this thing has.

Could one have been a "suggestion"? I have on my machine now, an interesting double listing. The final World Rally championship race was recorded as a suggestion off of Speed Network. It shows up in my Suggestions folder. Since then I have been recording the SCCA Runoffs off of Speed Network, as they are viewer requests, they show up in a folder labelled Auto Racing. The WRC race also shows up whenever I have other entries in the Auto Racing folder. Consequently it shows up twice, in Suggestions and in Auto Racing.

Oops, and I did mean, of course, MyVOD folders, not ToDo...must have been more tired last night than I thought. Anyway, there is nothing whatsoever different about this entry than the other ones in the folder. All of the guide data is the same, the title is identical, same channel, same time. It's just strange. Kanyon, you know it's not a TiVo, right? No suggestions on the R15. At least, at the moment, I hope not. There aren't enough slots in the ToDo list for it to record suggestions.

Me? Yes I know it's not a Tivo. Why do you ask?

You know what? I just want to start this day all over again. I have no idea what I'm doing or who I'm talking to. Sorry, Kanyon, I was about 50 milligrams of caffeine short when I wrote my last post. ;) I was, of course, talking to crkeehn. Good lord, I need a drink...Thank God for the long weekend...

There seems to be no folder option for manual recording either ! Well actually it seems to put some of my manual records into folders and some are not ??

Sorry fergieJ, I didn't realize that you were referring to the R-15. It might get a bit confusing here, with two different systems being discussed. When You mentioned the To Do list, I immediately assumed that you were referring to one of the many ilk of the DTivo series.

Sorry, I don't have an R-15 yet, perhaps after the New Year.

In any event, have a Happy Thanksgiving. What can I TIVO today.

Jerry,

I think the folders are dependent on how the programs were recorded. I seem to recall that the programs that I recorded by pressing the record button when the program was highlighted on the guide are in one folder. Later, after terminating those recordings, I set up a series link for the same program. I believe the SL recordings are in a new folder.

If this is the case, then I see how it could be considered both a feature and a bug. It could be a bug if someone wants ALL recordings of a given show in the same folder. However, it could also be a feature. Suppose that a series link is used to record all episodes of a show on one channel with those recordings being included in a single folder. If the user then decided to record an old rerun of the same show on a different channel, it might be a problem if it was added to the existing folder and bumped out another more recent SL recording from that folder.

In short, I think it is good to put SL recordings in their own separate folder, but it might be good to label the folder with "SL" to indicate this.

(Sorry about the ambiguity, I'll confirm this over the weekend.)

Zortapa, that may be the case. I can't remember if I did select one normal recording and then later do a SL. I may have, I'll have to check that theory. Thanks
