I'm going to try and describe what I saw tonight, although I probably couldn't reproduce it if I had to! But I think it's related to the dual user timer bug even though I use my 522 in single user mode.
Ahead of time, I set it up to record CSI at 9pm on ch 5. I also set it up to record both Apprentices on ch 11 at 9pm and 10 pm.
I started watching CSI at about 9:30. I was running late in terms of trying to finish CSI before Without a Trace started at 10pm, also on ch 5. So I set it up to record Without a Trace too.
So far so good, two channels, two timers, and I wasn't watching a 3rd channel.
It grabbed both 9pm shows no problem. At about 10:20pm, I was just starting to watch Without a Trace. For kicks, I checked to see if it was recording Apprentice at 10pm. It was not. It definitely was not. So that is problem number 1.
So then I started watching Apprentice, hit the record button to get the rest of it. It said the recording was already in progress and gave me no option to start it. But it was not recording the Apprentice. It was still recording Without a Trace. I tried about 5 different ways using the record button to get the Apprentice. No go: recording in progress. Problem #2.
So then I created a manual timer. The timer was created successfully, and started recording at 10:25pm. But when I went to the DVR menu, it said it was using both tuners to record Without a Trace! Problem #3. So at that point, I said forget it. I got my two shows. (The Apprentice is for my wife. :) )
So after I finished Without a Trace, I looked up the DVR menu. 35 min of Without a Trace is there. I started it up just to make sure, and voila, I did get the rest of The Apprentice. Problem #4. That section of the Apprentice was labelled as Without a Trace.
Very strange.
Yes, I was certain that even though I had 2 timers originally set at 10pm, that I was careful not to try and switch to a 3rd channel which would have usurped one of those timers.
Anyway, very wierd.
