With the R15, if you set up a season recording to "keep 1 episode," how is it handled? Does the R15 record the first instance of the show, and then skip recording until you've watched that show? Or does it always record and delete the previously recorded show?

When I leave at "keep 5" it just keeps recording, deleting the older one in the list.

Does it just like Tivo FIFO (First In First Out).

Interesting ... I believe this is different than my standalone Tivo which won't record any more shows until you've deleted others.

My SA Tivo will just blow them out of the list in the order they came into the list. I have it happen with The Simpsons, I always have the last 5 Episodes of it saved to watch.
havent set it for 1, I believe the latter of your statement 'should be' true, rather or not you watch it or not it should only keep the most current.

TiVo only stops recording if it is marked save until I delete. Otherwise, out with the old and in with the new.

I'm probably wrong about my standalone ... it's been a while since I last tried limiting the number of episodes.
I have my evening news set to "1" and it does go FIFO. (Old news is just that, old)
This is not working on my R15 - I have a program set to KAM - 5 - I currently have six episodes in My Vod !
I had set up KAM 5 for Sponge Bob and the something "parents" for the granddaughter last week as she wascoming by and it worked fine, 5 episodes of each and I know there are at least 15 a day on Nick.

Have you changed any of those to: Keep Until I delete?
If so, then it is working the same way as the TiVos do (at least the way my SD TiVo does).... Shows that are flagged as Keep Until I Delete, are no longer counted in the total of "keep # of shows"
As I have about 10 Jimmy Nutrons saved as KUID, but it keeps recording and has 5 newer episdoes recorded as well for a total of 15

Actually, any change to "keep until" on a TiVo (even just a time extension) detaches it from the "keep at most" count. I use this often to save a particular episode of a show that I've got a low keep at most count for (e.g. Good Eats I've got set to keep at most 2, and I've seen most of them. But when one comes in that looks interesting, I just extend the keep until for a few days to save it from keep at most).
