DVR Remote compatibility

I have a Dish 501 DVR receiver with a worn out remote. I've noticed, that for some strange reason, the #2 remote for the 942, 625, and 522 sell new on Ebay for a lot less than a new 501 remote on Ebay. Even though there are obviously buttons on the newer receivers' remote that don't apply to the 501, does anybody know if these newer remotes are compatible with the 501 receiver?

It would work in IR mode only, so you would be looking for a #1 remote. If you want the UHF capabilities, you need one of the older UHF remotes, not a #2 UHF pro(which is a different frequency). email me if you need one.
