Does dish have any kind of existing customer upgrade that isn't too costly. I am leasing the 811's and would like to get at least one dvr to record HD content.

I am not aware of any 811 to HD upgrade deal for existing customers. I doubt they would have one.

Bummer. When I first got dish 6 months ago I had the option to pay $199 for the 921 upgrade. I guess I could always buy a used one off ebay.

BTW I got a killer deal today. I had dish come out and repoint the dish1000 that I installed last week and decided to get another dpp44 switch installed inside my house. :D Total cost=$120.

I believe you can lease a 942 for $250. I have an 811 and I am considering upgrading to the 942 with the $250 lease.

As far as I know the only current subscribers that have been able to get that new customer lease deal are users that have been with dish for quite a few years. Considering he started 6 months ago I doubt they will upgrade him now. I guess its worth a try but I wouldn't hold my breath.

My account shows that I can upgrade to an 811. I called and they quoted me $100 shipped and installed. I already have an 811 and 625, just purchased another HD TV.

This upgrade just showed up on my account.

I couldn't find anything about subscribing to Voom, but after calling them, I have it.

The website also doesn't mention the Dish 1000, but that's how I'm getting Voom.

I think the best policy is to keep trying. You might get lucky.
