My parents currently have Dish along with their PVR box. They are extremely dissatisfied with Dish and would like to switch. The only thing holding them back is that my mother has poor eye sight and when she comes to my house, she cannot read the guide on my DirecTivo box. The print, as many of you may know, is pretty small on the DirecTivo Guide. On her DishPVR, though, the guides are large and easy to read.

My question is, does the new R15 have an easier-to-read guide than the DirecTivo and how does it compare to the DishPVR?

Thanks and it's very good to have found this forum!

My opinion FWTW is that the R15 guide is easier to read. My reasons being:
1. The print looks larger.

2. Because the guide is not placed over the current program the print is "cleaner".

You can find the link to Earl's review below. There may be a screen shot of the guide.

Good luck.

Which receiver does your mom use now? Is it a 510 or 522? The R10 and R15 both have smaller font than both of those receivers default setting. Could be a deal breaker.
