I just got one of the "Free" R10's at BustBuy about a month ago and the guide menu is very blurry, I thought my eyesight was failing but it's just the guide, I have to squint to read it if I'm more than 8' away. If it wasn't free I would take it back in a heartbeat.

We have 2 R10's and 2 Series 2's. The guides look the same on the same TV's. If you don't have another TV to try it on, or cannot try S-video (how is it connected anyhow), I'd send it back.

Cuda, speaking from personal experience as well. i have a DSR 708 and the guide menu is a bit blurrier than other menus. could be different depending on the TV it is connected to though. mine is on an RCA 52". prior to getting the 708, i briefly had an R10 before it bit the dust and the guide menu was also a bit blurry on it as well. it took some time to get it where i thought it looked it's best, by adjusting the "sharpness" quite a few times.:)
