I'm new to this forum, so stay with me. I am moving into a new house in a month or so and have had Dish service for about 6 years. I recently purchased a HDTV and want to upgrade my current receiver to a DVR942. The problem is that where the TV will be placed, there is only one coax jack. In order to utilize the TV2 on the DVR942, would I need to run additional coax to feed a second room or the other remaining rooms in the house? I still have my old receiver that does SD which I could use in another room. Is the DVR942 worth the extra cost? Should I run the extra coax for the other room(s)? Running the extra coax is where the real problem is...not feasible. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Easy solution. The have the LNB changed to a Dish Pro Plus. Then you will only need to run one coax to the 942 and use a Dish Pro Plus Separator at the end. Are you taking down the dish at the old home or doing the dish mover service? You may also want to consider a Dish 1000 if you are getting a whole new dish since it has the Dish Pro Plus lnb included and will allow you to get Voom channels.

you could do what some people on here have done and use a DPP lnb (both inputs on one cable) then diplex the signal for the TV2 output at the 942 side and feed the TV2 into the antenna/cable side of the diplexor and then at the other side of the one feed you have (probably the side of your house) put another diplexor and pull the antenna/cable feed and connect to the cable you likely have running to the TV2 (where the other tv is). That way one rg-6 can feed both tuners, and backfeed your TV2 feed to the other room.

This assumes the 942 area feed is connected in a junction of some sort where the other feed to the potential TV2 location is also spliced, and the dish feeds run to this location as well.

Make sense?

I will use the Dish Mover service. I have also looked at what satellites I will be needing and I will need the HD satellite, Voom satellite, and the AT120 satellite. Is the Dish 1000 something that I should ask for or will they automatically change the dish to this one since I'll be needing to reach three satellites with one dish? As far as I can tell, each room has its own RG-6 cable and there will be a junction box on the outside of the house. Is the method that chewey suggested or j5races method more practical for me in this case? I am rather new to this type of stuff. How much signal loss is there running to the second TV? Thanks!
