I have a 6000ird and a new Dish1000. I have a Dishpro adapter connected within 10 ft of Ird. I have taken all software updates for the receiver and the info screen shows version 829 software.

Problem is the Ird sees the switch as a Dish500 Twin, picks up the 110 & 119 Sats but will not detect the 129 Sat. Have tried every checkswitch available and reset by doing checkswitch without Sat-in feed connected. Have verified correct setup of dish by using only the single Lnbf in all 3 locations on the arm and verifying locked signal strengths on all 3 Sats.

The issue seems to be the receiver is not correctly identifying the internal switch in the Dish1000 so it does not see the single Lnbf for the 129 sat.

I know of 1 other person with exact same problem so tends to rule out bad connections or hardware.

Anyone have solution to this problem? Do I need another switch?

My understanding of the installation materials I have seen is that "Legacy receivers don't require the DP Adapter if two receivers are connected; however, if both receivers are legacy the 3rd satellite input can't be used." (EKB (http://ekb.dbstalk.com/35#dpp))

Some have gotten it to work but it appears you aren't so lucky so will need to add the DP adapter or connect a DishPro receiver in addition to the 6000.

The question is whether you have a DPP (DishPro Plus) TWIN or whether you actually have a DP TWIN.

If you actually have a DP TWIN you need a DP34 switch. Connect both outputs from the DP TWIN and one out put from the DP Dual LNBF (for 129) to the DP34 switch and run one output to your 6000 through your legacy adaptor.

If you have a DPP TWIN, you don't need the legacy adaptor but you have another problem. A legacy receiver like the 6000 is insufficient to power the DPP TWIN. You would need a DPP receiver in addition to your 6000 to make it work.
