Hi everyone,

I am a new user of the Direct TV R15 unit and I am quite disapointed with all the BUGS. I am glad that I am not the only one with problems. My latest problem are:

1. A few days ago I set up a Series recording of Survivor using the "Find " menu. About 5 minutes before the program was set to record I checked the "TO DO LIST" and it was not listed. I went to the Guide and it showed the (R) so I thought everything was fine. At 8 when the program was scheduled to start-- nothing, no record light on the DVR. We started watching the program live and about 12 minutes into the show it started recording. Any Idea why???

2. I also have a problem with the upcoming schedule for Survivor on Sunday. There are two segments, 8 to 10 and 10 to 11. The Guide shows both are set to record. The TO DO LIST shows only the 10 PM episode, but it has a circle with an X and a *. I selected Record and it shows the two episodes. The 8 to 10 is ok but the 10 to 11 has a problem and there is a message "Will not record because it conflicts with Survivor which runs from 8 to 10." I just don't understand what's happening. Any help would be appreciated.

I think I will also post this on the Direct TV site so maybe they will add it to their lis of things to fix!!

Sure is tempting to return it and go back to TIVO. We should get some sort of message from Direct TV saying they are working on all the problems and we will not be charged for the service until it starts working properly.

Thanks for any help.

I haven't had any problems like this.... The only concern I have is the slow response from time to time with the remote.....

The best way to do a series link is from the guide itself...... For example, Find CSI on CBS and do a series link and it will only show the CSI's on CBS.... Same way with Survivor or any other show...... Also, change the series link from save 5 epsiodes to all episodes unless you prefer it to delete after 5 saves...... The find will do a search for any episodes on all channels......

The best way to do the Survivor is to record the 8-10 show with an hour extended time......

Can't offer any help, unfortunately, but I've got pretty much the same issue with Series Link programs not showing up in the 'to do' list, there are "R's" on the program on the guide showing it's SUPPOSED to record, but it never does. Did a 'master' reset to factory image last night - this morning set up a new Series Link - same problem. I'll be getting another R15, according to Tech Support. Unfortunately, I'm inclined to believe this is a software issue rather than a hardware issue...:nono2:

i to believe this to be a software issue as well. if they replace all units with this problem, then they may as well replace all of them. yours truly included......i had this issue happen yesterday as well. the good side of that is, it is the first time (and probably not the last) :nono2:

this method of setting up a SL, is by far the most reliable at this point:) ............but i think we all agree that the SL bugs are a big issue that needs to be "top priority" on D*'s list of updates.

Ok, I try to be the first to admit when I'm wrong...so I should let you know that this afternoon the shows did all show up in the 'to do' list. Everything appears, for the moment, to be working properly. I'll be very curious to see if this week's recordings all work. If so, then great. If not, then at least I know D* is going to stand behind the product and give me a new unit. Just going to be patient, for now.
