Hello,

I have a question about connecting the Directv Tivo HR10-250 box to my Panasonic TH-50PHD8UK plasma monitor. The HR10 has an HDMI output and the 8UK has an HDMI input, so at first pass this seems a slam dunk. However the 8UK is a monitor w/o speakers, so this HDMI cable will be passing video only. What do I do for audio? Am I able to connect the HDMI for video, then connect the two RCA audio output cables from the HR10 to inputs on my stereo for audio? Or if I need to use the RCA cables for audio must I then not use HDMI for video but rather use the three component video cables?

I am having this all installed tomorrow so I can't try it myself now. Just curious if anyone has a similar setup and could offer some advice. I want to make sure I've thought through the connection setup before the installers show up.

Thanks for your help!

:)

I am not factual on this, mine is HDMI to DVI, but that should still work. Use the best audio inputs you have though (optical) if you have it.

Thanks for the 'input' :) I will eventually be putting an external A/V switch component inbetween the HR10 and the 8UK, so this issue goes away then. But for now, I need to know how this will work.

Thanks again
