I would like to upgrade my dish network reciever. Anyone have any experience with their high end units? I cannot get them to answer the phone (on hold forever) and you cannot order it online they say go see a dealer.
Is it worth it and how much more is the monthly lease? Any advice would be appreciated.

If you are already a customer, you will likely have a problem getting one on a lease.

That said, you don't want a 921 unless you get it really cheap. The 942 is supposed to be a bit more stable now, but it's $250 plus a lease fee on the lease and something like $750 or so to purchase, as you would likely have to do.

Of course, you can wait a few months for one of the supposed new MPEG4 capable units. No idea on real availability/price or stability yet.

If you want a HD DVR get the 942. I should have a few months back but I also read about the MPEG4 rollout which should have happened by now, but it hasn't and no one really has any idea when it will.

You can get a 942 from several different dealers on ebay for about $620 including shipping.

Mark will let you trade in your old dish receiver for credit towards your new receiver. NO sales Tax if you live outside of the state of Florida. No shipping cost either. Mark is great to work with and I have upgraded all my receivers through him since 2002. I highly recommend him and his website.

They only have 1 OTA tuner which is a major major set back. If they were really cheap I'd get one, but I'd never pay $250 for the leasing privelage
