I was watching NG last night on Dish and saw an ad for NGHD starting in 2006. will dish be carrying this channel? It would be very cool.
I sure hope Dish adds Nat Geo HD to their lineup in 2006. They clearly need some more good HD in their current offering. This would be an excellent addition.

Look for announcements on Jan. 5th (IIRC - give or take a day or two).
Dunno is Nat'l-G is part of it, but news is coming from CES.

It would be nice to see NG, there is the potential for some amazing HD content with that type of channel.

Yeah, but will NG HD be in the HD package or the 180 package like the SD NG channel.

I would think it would be in the HD package. It wouldn't make sense to have it in the 180 package. Many people who have that package don't even have HD receivers (or HD TV's)

What does "makes sense" got to do with it. This is Dish.

Well,
Dish did have Discovery HD Theater and TNT-HD on their launch dates.
But they did not have HDNet, HDNet Movies, or ESPN on their launch dates, but months later.
Finally there are still several HD channels which have been out for months/years and Dish still does not carry.
So it will likely fall in one of those three catagories.
My guess. It will be carried, but a few months out. Perhaps when MPEG-4 comes around.
Sorry to be a grinch, but my guess would be no. NatGeo is a News Corp. owned station, so D* will probably get it first, similar to the launch of Fox Reality. Just my guess.
