R.I.P Jack Buck. A class act and one of the last great broadcasters has left us on this warm summer night. Ironic that his team came into first place one more time for him before he died......you will be missed...

Buck was great on tv and incredible on radio. A few years
ago, in the press box at Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium
I was in awe just to sit in the booth next door and watch
him work.

Jack Buck was a class act all the way. I detest major league baseball but I love pro football. I recall Buck working TV games for CBS, mostly Cowboy games but, some others as well. I particularly enjoyed his work on CBS radio doing MNF with Hank Stram. I always kept the TV sound turned down and my enjoyment of the game was heightened by watching the TV video and listening to Buck's accurate call of each game with excellent analysis by Stram. RIP Jack Buck, you've earned it.........

Here's a link to the hometown newspaper, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

I can't believe that I'll never again hear "Thats a winner!" It had been tough to see how he had physically deteriorated over the past few years. He was a great guy, and an institution in St. Louis.
