You can order Sky Angel for $15/mth and you would also get the Hallmark Movie channel, and Fox News.

Well put Kingloop... I was just going to jump onto the i Wish all the channels that people want should be in the top 60... lol ^_^
Hallmark should be at least in the Top 120. It is a channel that is widely found on basic cable systems and not usually a higher digital tier. I don't know why Dish Network puts it and Great American Country in the highest package.

However, on average basic cable costs more that $27 or $38 per month. To say oh well it's on basic cable so it should be on basic dish is to say I think my dish bill should be higher. IMHO.

All 223+ channels should be in AT60, right? :D

Basic cable around here is $44 for 70 some channels including Hallmark. The Dish Top 120 with locals is $42.99 so in this case I already pay about the same and do not get Hallmark.

there have to be some channels of interest on AT180 or else nobody would subscribe to it. everybody has their own favorite channels that they would like to see on a lower level. for me, they would be ESPNU and DIY network.
what's the big deal with hallmark channel? they show the same made for tv christmas movies every year.

I have a lifteime Sky Angel subscription and Top-120. The PQ on SA is not as good as the E* channels that I get duplicates of: FNC and HGTV, however the difference is most noticable on FNC.
Hallmark Movie Channel is an exclusive on SA.
You need a good view of 61.5, there are no plans to mirror SA on a west coast side sat.

How about adding Fox Sports on Top 60? I don't undertstand why we need to pay extra for the local sports station.

Okay, just for you Dish is going to add Fox Sports to AT60 and AT60 plus will be dropped from the menu. But the price for everyone with AT60 goes up by $4.99 a month.
Starting January 1, though, those who do not want to receive the RSN (Fox Sports) from their area can subscribe to a new package called AT60 minus! They can save $4.99 a month by choosing this plan!
Tada! :P

I have always thought the Top 180 package should be for those who want extra channels in addition to the basic core channels like A&E Biography, the Discovery Suite of channels, History International, additional sports networks, VH1/MTV Suite (if they'd add the rest), the Encore theme channels, and additional kids programming like Nick Toons and Nick GAS, Boomerang, etc.
All of the above are sort of extra stations that compliment the basic channels. The package is pretty close to this but channels like Great American Country and Hallmark should be in the lower end packages. A channel like Hallmark Movie Channel could be in the Top 180. For some reason, they finally did move SoapNet to the Top 120 package.

Do you mean they will add Fox Sports to AT60 by increasing the price? What is AT minus? Right now I can add Fox Sports for 4.99 a month or get plus, but i do not really watch those channels 24/7.

He's being funny. E* has a program offering called AT60Plus that includes the local RSN for each market. Tony's using creative renaming to put FSN in "AT60" while still giving non-sports lovers the opportunity to not pay the $5 extra.

Correct. It's a joke. Currently AT60 is a basic package with just "the essentials". Those that feel their RSN is necessary used to be SOL unless they went to AT120. But a while ago Dish came up with AT60 Plus for $4.99 a month extra so those that really want their RSN(s) can get them without getting the entire AT120 package. If the channel is added to the AT60 package there would have to be a price adjustment. So then the question is: Do you force everyone to pay for an expensive new channel they don't want?
Everyone wants every channel on AT60 and can't understand why (insert channel name here) is not on the lowest price package,
These channels cost money. There are two options for Dish and other multi-channel providers: Raise the price on the package to add the channels or offer the channels on a higher tier so those that want it can pay a little more.
My basic cable rate here is about $48 a month. Of course it contains Hallmark! The cable package costs as much as AT180 without the Encore channels, TMC, Biography, the Discovery channels, Style, DIY, and another dozen or so channels.
Of course the real answer is to pass a law or FCC regulation that makes provider bundling illegal (ie. Viacomm saying if you don't pick up NickToons and put it on AT120 we will cut off CBS and a dozen other channels until you cry uncle) and force allow true a la carte programming like was originally attempted by Dish with their old "Dishpix" package.
