Ok,

I have been trying to get this figured out for a few days and greatly appreciate all the help this forum has given me, but still having a few questions.

Let me setup the scenario...

I have a triple LNB dish with 3 coax lines dropping down into my basement where each of those is connected to a coax which runs to my living room, bedroom, and office. Each of those is hooked up to a wall outlet there.

I am trying to install a DVR in the bedroom and when I called DTV last night they recommended I get a switch in my bedroom instead of running a line through the whole house again. Will this work? What about a splitter? How expense are these switches? Will I need to run more cable?

Thanks!

You actually need to run the 4th line from the dish to the basement drop area, then run a new cable to the bedroom location if your triple LNB is the newer Phase III type. If you want dual tuner capability at any location, you need 2 seperate feeds unless you want to go the expensive stacker/destacker route which is several hundred dollars or more.
