But, I'm thinking about getting a couple DVR's and wanted to know if two sat. connections have to be made to each reciever, or if that's only if you want to watch one channel and record on another. I only have a dual lnb with a Multiswitch and currently four recievers and wanting to replace a couple older recievers with the DVR's.

Get a 625 and a 522... it works for 4 tvs, and your current wiring would need to be modified slightly...

Sorry, about Ken Howe's answer (and your current cabling would not need to be altered at all if you did switch to E*) he obviously didn't notice that this is the D* forum.

Yes, you can connect a DVR with only 1 sat connection, you just can't record 2 things at once. (And have to watch what you are recording or something from the DVR menu while something is recording.)
