These new R15 DVRs seem to have a ton of bugs. Who wants a DVR that can't be counted on record programs? Is it still possible to get the Tivo model?

Sure it is. Most Best Buys and Circuit Citys still have R10s available.

Thanks, that's good to know. I already have 2 of the HDVR2 DVRs and I've never had any problems with them.

I was told that production of the R10 has been halted and that the only way to get this receiver was to purchase it from a retailer, but after they use up their inventory, that will be the end of the r10

Tons?

Can you list the 4,000+ items (assuming you ment multiple tons).... :D

I am just picking on yah...

Sure the unit has a few problems, but it is not as bad as the forum and text word is making it seem. Give it a few more weeks and see what gets corrected in the next software release.

No, it doesnt work exactly like their previous Tivo's, yes it still has a few bugs, and a few needed feature improvements. It still beats teh crap out of just about anything E* hardware wise. The number of people that complain about a product will far outweigh the number you see that like it or have no trouble, so you'll always see the horror stories about stuff, its that way for everything, especially since the internet got so big. The people that have no trouble arent here, they're off using their products...

You could always check with DTV also. I just got a phillips DSR708 from them to replace my aging Hughes. The 708 is very easy to hack using scripts from the tivocommunity.com
