DirecTV announced two key programming moves Thursday.

With the first, the satellite TV company partnered with
America Online, XM Satellite Radio and AEG for Network Live,
which will deliver exclusive entertainment music programming.
As part of the agreement, Network Live will become the music
and live entertainment programming partner for DirecTV, and
DirecTV will serve as Network Live's exclusive first-window
TV partner.

Network Live programming will debut on DirecTV in March 2006
on channel 101 in standard definition and 401 in high-def.
However, a sneak-peak will be available this month on channel
124.

Also, DirecTV said it added Hype TV, a 24-hour Caribbean music
and entertainment channel. Hype TV is available on an
a-la-carte basis for $9.99 a month with the purchase of any
DirecTV programming package.

Does anyone else see the extreme irony in D* adding a channel named "Hype"? I thought they aleady had more than enough hype.
