After 5 years of off and on requests, I was finally given permission to get the west coast ABC feed (I'm part of the NYC Locals package).
Since I already had the other three, adding the channel actually DROPPED my monthly rate (entire West Coast Package instead of a la carte).
It took 3 years for FOX to relent and 5 years for ABC, but I finally have backups for all my broadcast networks (useful when they schedule all their best shows against each other on the same night so my 2 Tuner DVR can catch everything I want.....).
OK, Charlie, you gave me one early Christmas present, how are those HD channels coming?

That's sweet Bob. At least Charlie made somebody happy this year. I know my kid loves the East and West Nick, the major nets would be a bonus.

The FOX affiliate is a requirement during football season as Sunday night start times for shows are all over the place. Set The Simpsons and Family Guy timers for the West Coast feed and the problem goes away......
Also, when my 921, ahem,... burps, during a recording, it's nice to know I can reschedule a backup so I don't miss anything.
It also helps ease the load on the 921 if I don't have two many concurrent timers firing. Many of my hiccups go away when only a single timer is active.
So, what was the basis for your request. I pretty much thought that if you had local networks you weren't eligible for distant networks. Am I missing something?

You don't get them automatically, but you can request waivers. E* submits your request. If they don't respond to reject your request, it means a tacit approval. (Hence my multiple attempts).
Hey whatever.... it works.... I've got all four LA distants now.....

He said he is in the NYC market, which is O&O. So he was eligible... I believe...
